When the Covid 19 Pandemic struck and home learning and working became default, in person DYW activities ground to a halt. Things moved quickly and the regional groups worked together to create online resources for young people, parents, carers and educators which allowed future planning to continue as best as it could.
As part of the online activity, Scotland’s Biggest Parents’ Events was launched and is still available to catch up with now.
These events provide parents and carers with information about options and pathways for young people, including where they can go to make informed judgements to support their young person’s next steps.
With input from a range of experts covering topics such as exams, mental health, apprenticeships, skills development and pathways into industry, the events are also beneficial to young people themselves and aim to provide a message of reassurance and optimism at this challenging time.
