Are you a parent or carer of a young person? Be part of our pilot series of Parent and Carer Café sessions this November, where you can:
Gain valuable information about services that can help you support the young people in your care
Ask questions directly to experts and community members.
Meet other parents and carers in a friendly, welcoming environment.
See the brand-new Thurso Community Café space while enjoying free refreshments!
This FREE pilot event will run every Thursday in November, 6:30 – 7:30 pm, featuring expert guest speakers on important topics
7th November – Mental Health Support
Donna Murray from Mikesysline will discuss mental health support options for young people.
14th November – School Nurse Services
Janelle Spratt, Team Lead for Child Health Caithness, will explain how school nurses support all school-aged young people, including non-attenders.
21st November – Relationships
Siobhan Leen, Health Improvement Specialist, NHS, will talk about the Relationships, Sexual Health, and Parenthood (RSHP) curriculum and learning resources.
28th November – Vaping
Lesley Anne Bremner, Health Improvement Advisor, NHS, will discuss vaping and what options are available if your child is struggling to stop.Your feedback matters! As this is a pilot series, your input will help shape future sessions, to ensure they meet the needs of parents and carers in our community. We’d love to hear your thoughts!
