DYW North Highland launches the Summit to Success Challenge!

Are You Ready for the Challenge of a Lifetime? Join the Developing the Young Workforce North Highland Summit to Success Challenge, Sponsored by Scrabster Harbour Trust!

Do you love a challenge? Want to be part of a team? Are you eager to experience an outdoor adventure that builds confidence? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North Highland and Scrabster Harbour Trust have teamed together to offer 16 young people in Caithness and Sutherland the opportunity to secure a spot on an exclusive, confidence-building weekend in the stunning Cairngorms National Park.

The Summit to Success Challenge will dare participants to climb higher, race faster, and push further than ever before. The exhilarating weekend of outdoor activities is designed to build teamwork and collaboration, enhance leadership skills, develop problem-solving abilities, improve communication, and boost confidence and self-esteem.

The challenge is open to everyone aged 16-24 in the North Highlands, with 16 fully funded places available.

To participate in the Summit to Success Challenge, DYW North Highland encourages young people across the region to sharpen their job application and employability skills by participating in a mock job interview process. Participants will be asked to research careers in the outdoors, apply for a role, and attend an interview, putting their best foot forward as if they were applying for a real-life position.

The best applicants will be chosen to take part in the Summit to Success Basecamp, where they will take part in a full weekend of activities designed to strengthen and develop essential skills while enjoying an unforgettable adventure.

Trudy Morris, CEO, Caithness Chamber of Commerce & DYW North Highland Lead commented:

“This opportunity is incredibly exciting for our young participants, promising to enhance their confidence and impart valuable transferable skills. These core skills will be immensely beneficial as they embark on their future career paths. Access to high-quality growth opportunities and real-world experiences is crucial for the sustained development and future success of our younger generations.”

Tom McGee, DYW North Highland Operations Manager, commented:

“We are delighted to be partnering with Scrabster Harbour Trust on this initiative which will offer young people in the North Highlands an unforgettable experience.
