Graduate and Undergraduate Opportunities at BAM

Are you a Graduate or Undergraduate looking to excel your knowledge and professional development in your chosen field?

Depending on your chosen field, you will either be based on one of our large-scale projects throughout the UK or placed into a commercially minded office team. Where you will have endless opportunities to learn and develop alongside experienced individuals from the business.

Each year BAM recruit Graduates and Undergraduates into the business in the following pathways:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Construction Management

Graduate programme
BAM offer a structured graduate development programme in a professional workplace environment, leading to appropriate chartered status.

They have well-established relationships with a range of professional institutions and industry partners, we continuously innovate our programmes ahead of the industry, nurturing your skills and helping you to meet your ambitions.

If I am successful, when do I start and what is the duration?

  • BAM have yearly cohorts starting in September/October 2024
  • You will join them as an ‘Assistant’ in your chosen field and will be in a cohort with other graduates.
  • You will benefit from a structured 2 year programme where you will work towards your Professional Status with the support of experienced subject matter experts in the business. 

What is your eligibility criteria?
Graduates will have studied a relevant sector degree, for example:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • Quantity Surveying.

Undergraduate programme
BAM placements combine onsite activity with structured learning, making sure that you are continuously developing and meeting your university requirements, with potential to develop into a full-time graduate position.

For exceptional candidates, BAM can also offer financial sponsorship for the remainder of your degree.

If I’m successful, when do I start and what is the duration?
Summer Placements: 6-12 week placement anytime from May 2024 – September 2024

Year out Industrial Placements: Between June & September 2024

What is your eligibility criteria?
BAM accept students studying relevant sector degrees;

  • Interested in a summer placement after a first year at university 
  • Seeking a year-out industrial placement after completing year two 
  • Looking for work with an industry employer during a sandwich course in year three

They also occasionally accept students looking for experience as part of other educational courses, so long as it fits within your academic requirements and meets our business needs.
